What you would do
- Lead drafting, review, and renewal of data governance policies, standards, frameworks, and procedures
- Design and maintain the data governance framework and manage the full policy lifecycle
- Ensure policies meet regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable governance language
- Oversee enterprise‑wide implementation of governance initiatives and monitor compliance
- Coordinate internal and external audits related to the Enterprise Data Office
- Implement and operationalise the data stewardship program across domains
- Design and implement governance controls and monitor policy compliance across units
- Maintain the data governance risk and issue register and support audits with evidence
- Deliver data governance training and awareness materials to build data literacy
- Embed governance practices into business and technical workflows and advise units

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Law, Information Systems, Data Management or related field
- 5+ years in data governance, risk, compliance or policy/controls roles
- Experience in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, insurance, telecom)
- Experience leading change management, training programs, or culture-building initiatives
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks (DCAM, DAMA-DMBOK, COBIT) and relevant regulations (GDPR, NDPA)
- Familiarity with modern data architectures (Medallion, Data Mesh, Data Vault 2.0) and governance in distributed environments
- Ability to draft and maintain policies, standards, and control frameworks
- Experience with controls testing, risk assessments, or compliance monitoring
- Strong written communication and stakeholder management; ability to influence without authority
- Professional certification such as DCAM, CDMP, DGSP, CIPP or equivalent
