Credit Risk Analyst
About this role
Based in Lagos, Moniepoint seeks a Credit Risk Analyst who will act as the embedded risk owner within a consumer lending product squad. The role combines credit policy and portfolio analytics to balance rapid growth with robust risk controls, ensuring compliance with CBN/MFB and KYC/AML standards.
What you would do
- Lead end-to-end risk assessment design for new products and features within your squad
- Develop and maintain credit policies and decision rules aligned with company risk appetite
- Collaborate with the Decision Science team to develop credit scorecards
- Monitor portfolio quality and produce portfolio performance reports
- Identify and mitigate operational, fraud, and process risks in collaboration with wider teams
- Maintain dashboards and analytics for repayment behaviour and risk KPIs

- Minimum 3 years' experience in consumer credit portfolio management
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (CBN guidelines, AML/CFT, Data Protection)
- SQL essential; Python (NumPy, Pandas) desirable
- Demonstrable experience in credit risk management (acquisition optimisation, portfolio management)
- Ability to balance commercial goals with risk appetite
- Excellent communicator who can translate risk concepts for product and engineering teams
