Crane Electrician

About this role

Vethan Concept Group Limited in Lagos is seeking a Crane Electrician. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing RTGs, Mobile Harbour Cranes and spreaders, diagnosing faults, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance, while keeping detailed maintenance records and supporting emergency repairs.

What you would do

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and modifications on RTGs, Mobile Harbour Cranes, spreaders and related equipment.
• Diagnose faults and carry out cost-effective repairs to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, control systems, PLC components and other electrical equipment.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance in line with planned schedules.
• Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, confirmation slips and spare parts documentation.
• Provide technical support during equipment recovery, emergency repairs and maintenance operations as required.

What they are asking for

• Hold ND, HND, BSc or BTech qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of electrical maintenance experience within ports, mining, steel, manufacturing or production environments, including shift work.
• Demonstrate experience working on Mobile Harbour Cranes, Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes (RTGs), spreaders, or other heavy-duty port handling equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics and fault diagnosis.
• Computer literate, analytical, self-motivated and able to respond effectively to emergency repairs while maintaining high safety standards.
