Crane and Lifting Equipment Specialist
About this role
SPIE Oil & Gas Services seeks a Crane and Lifting Equipment Specialist to join the AKPO project team in Nigeria. The role provides technical and economic leadership in the inspection, maintenance and reliability of cranes and lifting equipment, ensuring safety standards are met and acting as the technical authority for DW field operations. It includes coordinating maintenance activities, working with OEMs and vendors, and supporting crane related investigations and installations.
What you would do
- Prepare maintenance documents for preventive maintenance, inspection and testing on AKPO and EGINA cranes and lifting equipment.
- Develop specifications for new cranes and lifting equipment based on international standards.
- Coordinate planned crane maintenance activities fleet wide with the OEM.
- Manage crane maintenance vendors and contracts within SCM frame agreements.
- Lead crane related incident investigations and liaise with DW Inspection and classification societies as applicable.
- Oversee maintenance planning for cranes, including BOM management and third party certification.
What they are asking for
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering (2.1).
- About 15 years of experience with offshore cranes and hydraulic power transmission and control systems.
- Experience with heavy machinery / equipment.
- Extensive experience in maintenance, fault finding, build and procurement of equipment projects.
- Team management, analytical and organisational skills.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of SAP; proficiency in English.
