Cost Controller - Field Operations

About this role

Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited in Lagos is recruiting a Cost Controller for Field Operations. The role oversees end-to-end cost control and financial management for the joint venture's field activities, including budgeting, forecasting and cost optimisation, and involves managing JV partner relationships in the Nigerian E&P landscape. It reports to the Senior Cost Controller and provides financial analysis to guide executive decision-making.

What you would do

• Track and monitor field operation costs.
• Prepare financial forecasts and gather data to support AFEs.
• Monitor contracts and expenditures to drive cost reductions and track against budget.
• Align activities with Contracts & Procurement and Finance.
• Prepare monthly accruals and cash flow estimates, and provide variance narratives to financial analysts.
• Ensure timely and correct payment of vendor invoices in line with contracts.

What they are asking for

• At least 8 years of experience in cost engineering or cost control.
• At least 5 years of experience in the Nigerian oil and gas E&P sector with notable contractors.
• Deep understanding of the Nigerian upstream oil and gas industry, including Joint Ventures and Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs).
• Experience in cost estimating, forecasting, variance analysis and project controls.
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to communicate financial information to senior stakeholders.
