Role: Cost Controller at Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited in Lagos. It is a financial stewardship role responsible for end-to-end cost control and the financial management of the JV's O&M activities, aimed at maximising profitability through forecasting and cost optimisation.
What you would do
- Track costs and perform cost analyses to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Monitor contracts and expenditures to identify opportunities for cost reduction within the budget.
- Align cost control activities with Contracts & Procurement and Finance functions.
- Prepare monthly accruals and cash flow estimates and analyse variances.
- Review and code vendor invoices to ensure alignment with contracts and timely payments.
- Support external partner audits and provide requested cost information.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
- Minimum 8 years in cost control/cost engineering roles; at least 5 years in Nigerian oil and gas E&P or with notable industry contractors.
- Deep understanding of Nigerian upstream oil and gas industry, including JV and PSC mechanics.
- Experience in cost estimating, forecasting, variance analysis and project controls.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle).
- Strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, proactive and capable of stakeholder management.
