The Law Crest LLP in Lagos is seeking a Corporate Commercial Associate to join its Business Advisory team. The role focuses on delivering legal and regulatory advisory services for commercial transactions, corporate governance and data protection compliance. The firm handles energy sector contracts and related advisory work, and the successful candidate will manage engagements independently with strong drafting and advisory skills.

What you would do

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial and corporate documents
• Coordinate regulatory licensing and filing processes with relevant bodies
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions and advisory memoranda
• Provide legal and regulatory advice on data protection under NDPA 2023 and related frameworks
• Perform data protection assessments, DPIAs and compliance gap analyses
• Draft and review privacy notices, processing agreements and governance policies
• Advise on cross-border data transfers, regulatory reporting and incident response
• Support development and implementation of privacy compliance frameworks
• Independently manage assigned client matters and provide updates to clients
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver practical legal solutions

What they are asking for

• LL.B and B.L with minimum 2:1 in both university and law school
• 4–6 years post-call experience in corporate commercial law, preferably with company secretarial, regulatory advisory and data protection experience
• Excellent legal drafting, research and negotiation skills
• Strong client management and communication abilities
• Good time management, attention to detail and project management skills
• High standards of integrity, confidentiality and professional conduct
