About this role
The Corporate Banking Relationship Manager will grow and manage Wema Bank's corporate banking portfolio by originating and managing high-quality corporate relationships, delivering structured financing solutions, and building ecosystem linkages across Manufacturing, Infrastructure, Energy, Telecommunications and multinational sectors. The role requires at least five years of experience in corporate banking or a related function in a structured financial institution. It is a full-time position based in Lagos.
What you would do
- Identify, develop and onboard at least four top corporate clients each year and maintain a robust sector-aligned pipeline.
- Design and implement value chain banking strategies for top clients and onboard ecosystem partners; promote supply chain financing and related structures.
- Grow and manage a high-quality corporate loan portfolio with strong risk-adjusted returns; cross-sell treasury products (trade finance, foreign exchange, cash management) to increase wallet share; deliver revenue growth from interest and non-interest income.
- Mobilise low-cost deposits (CASA) across corporate clients and their value chains; maintain an 80:20 CASA-to-term deposit mix; develop liquidity and cash concentration solutions.
- Conduct credit analysis, financial modelling and risk assessment; structure facilities in line with risk appetite; monitor portfolio health and covenant compliance.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for key corporate accounts; build lasting relationships with decision-makers and deliver tailored financial solutions.

- Minimum of five years’ proven experience managing large corporate relationships within a Corporate Banking Group.

- Strong knowledge of credit analysis, financial modelling, structured trade finance and project finance; knowledge of corporate and investment banking products.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills and high commercial acumen.
