Control Room Operator
About this role
Sellafield Energy Resources Limited seeks a Control Room Operator to monitor and control production processes from the control room, ensuring safe and stable operations and prompt response to alarms and changing conditions. The role is based in Lagos, Nigeria, with offshore assignments as needed, and is a full-time onsite position within Production Operations reporting to the Control Room Supervisor. The company provides resources and services to Nigeria's energy sectors, including oilfields and power plants operations. The operator will work within established procedures and HSE requirements, coordinating with field teams and maintaining records. Offshore travel may be required.
What you would do
- Coordinate start-ups, shutdowns and isolations of equipment with operations teams.
- Monitor pressures, temperatures, flow rates, alarms and equipment status.
- Follow company procedures and HSE requirements.
- Participate in shift handovers, safety meetings and emergency drills.
- Respond to alarms and abnormal conditions according to procedures.
- Adjust process settings within approved operating limits.
- Monitor production equipment and process conditions using control systems.
- Report equipment faults, process deviations and safety concerns promptly.
- Communicate operating instructions and updates to field operators.
- Maintain shift logs and accurate production records.
What they are asking for
- Experience in oil and gas production or process operations.
- Familiarity with control systems, alarms and process monitoring.
- Technical certificate, OND, HND or degree in Process Operations, Engineering or related field.
- Ability to work shifts and respond calmly to abnormal situations.
- Strong communication, observation and record-keeping skills.
- Relevant offshore safety training and medical certification, where applicable.
- Willingness to travel offshore when required.
