Control Field Specialist – Industrial & Energy Technology (IET)

About this role

This is a Baker Hughes Control Field Specialist role in the Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) unit, based in Rivers, Nigeria. It is for an experienced engineer with turbomachinery controls and field instrumentation to lead on-site installation, testing, commissioning and startup activities and to provide technical direction to clients and Baker Hughes teams.

What you would do

• Carry out control panel commissioning, logic modifications, loop and functional checks, and panel certification and upgrades.
• Provide technical clarification and supervision to the client on Baker Hughes rotating equipment (HDGT, Aero GT and Compressors).
• Supervise troubleshooting, commissioning and startup activities of Baker Hughes products related to control engineering during outages.
• Interface with Baker Hughes Engineering on equipment reliability, operations, maintenance and failure analysis.
• Coordinate and oversee field-site work, directing teams to deliver quality service at customer sites.
• Collaborate with crew members on installation and/or maintenance activities of customer equipment in the field at customer sites.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in turbomachinery controls systems and field instrumentation.
• Experience with at least two of MKV, MKVI, MKVIe, Rx3i, or GE Fanuc control systems.
• Experience in commissioning and startup of GE or BH turbomachinery equipment with Speedtronics MKV, MKVI, MKVIe, RX3i, or GE Fanuc control systems.
• Ability to work independently as a control and field instrumentation specialist.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time.
