About this role
A consultant role to provide technical support for advancing large-scale food fortification and iodine nutrition in West and Central Africa. It is remote with travel across West Africa and member states, for a 10-month contract, suitable for experienced public nutrition professionals familiar with LSFF and USI.
What you would do
- Prepare technical products and draft frameworks to support regional and national efforts
- Support institutional capacity building, standard and regulatory framework development
- Draft country and regional implementation roadmaps for LSFF programmes and USI
- Produce outputs supporting policy reform, standards harmonisation and monitoring systems
- Contribute to regional food systems transformation initiatives and country consultations
- Coordinate with regional bodies, member states and partners on LSFF and USI activities
What they are asking for
- 10-15 years of professional experience in public nutrition, food systems or related development work
- Experience with LSFF, USI or micronutrient deficiency prevention
- Experience supporting regional or multi-country programmes in Africa, preferably WCAR
- Strong policy, negotiation, diplomacy and stakeholder management skills
- Masters degree in Nutrition, Development, Economics or related field
- Fluency in written and spoken English and French (Portuguese desirable)
