Consultant Family Medicine (Kaduna)
About this role
Role for a Consultant in Family Medicine based in Kaduna with Dragnet Nigeria. The post holder will provide specialist family medicine care across the patient pathway in outpatient, inpatient and referral settings, supervise junior medical staff and contribute to clinical standards and governance for the service.
What you would do
- Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of patients in family medicine, including complex cases, and act as a senior point of referral for junior medical staff.
- Supervise, teach and support the training and development of senior medical officers, medical officers and trainees.
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and patient-safety activities.
- Coordinate care with other specialties, diagnostics, pharmacy, nursing, allied health and managed-care/HMO functions, applying evidence-based, cost-effective practice.
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and current MDCN registration/licence in line with internal clinical policy.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues; work within a multidisciplinary team.

- MBBS or MBChB from a recognised institution.
- Completion of the required national housemanship/internship and NYSC, or valid exemption.
- Minimum of 3 years post-fellowship specialist experience in family medicine.
- Demonstrable competence in independently managing complex cases in family medicine.
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective communication skills.
