About this role
Role: Consultant Family Medicine based in Lagos for Dragnet Nigeria. The role involves delivering specialist family medicine care across outpatient, inpatient and referral pathways, supervising and training junior medical staff, and contributing to clinical standards and governance. Suitable for doctors with a minimum of three years post-fellowship experience in family medicine and MBBS/MBChB with current registration.
What you would do
- Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of patients in family medicine, including complex cases, and act as a senior point of referral for junior medical staff
- Supervise, teach and support the training and development of senior medical officers, medical officers and trainees
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement and patient-safety activities
- Coordinate care with other specialties, diagnostics, pharmacy, nursing, allied health and managed-care/HMO functions, applying evidence-based, cost-effective practice
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and current MDCN registration/licence in line with internal clinical policy

- MBBS or MBChB from a recognised institution with completion of housemanship/internship and NYSC (or valid exemption)
- Post-fellowship specialist experience in family medicine, minimum of 3 years
- Demonstrable competence in independently managing complex family medicine cases
- Experience teaching, training and supervising junior medical staff
- Comprehensive knowledge of family medicine across a broad range of acute and chronic presentations
- Ability to coordinate care with other specialties, diagnostics, pharmacy, nursing and managed-care functions; strong clinical governance and patient safety understanding
