Concept Engineer
About this role
The role is for a Concept Engineer within Renaissance Africa Energy Company, based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. It sits in the Front-End Development Organisation and involves contributing surface input to front-end concept development, planning and engineering for new and existing opportunities. The job requires coordinating with engineering teams, applying cost-saving technologies, ensuring HSE compliance, and producing design and planning documents to progress projects through the ORS process and PMF.
What you would do
- Interface with FEDMs and studies teams to integrate surface and subsurface aspects for FEL and delivery.
- Apply innovative, cost-saving technologies to reduce unit costs and maximise economic benefits.
- Promote global best practices and share knowledge among team members.
- Ensure compliance with HSE protocols and develop team HSE plans.
- Provide surface facilities input to Field Development Plans.
- Produce conceptual designs that are competitive and affordable and progress them through DG3.
- Coordinate with engineering discipline teams to deliver documentation (PPDs, Feasibility Reports, FDPs, BfDs).
- Maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders through updates and reports.
- Develop Concept Selection Reports and Basis for Designs (BfDs).
- Provide Development Planning expertise to integrate multi-disciplinary teams and support standardisation and replication efforts.

- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline.
- Minimum 9 years’ experience in engineering design, construction, and project execution.
- Proven leadership skills and track record of delivering through others.
- Expertise in Concepts Development and Project Execution within oil and gas.
- Strong safety leadership, good communication, and ability to mentor teams.
- Ability to manage interfaces with subsurface, well engineering, production, regulators and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the ORS process and project delivery through others.
- Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset with uncertainty handling.
- Strong emphasis on Continuous Improvement and external/internal stakeholder engagement.
- Good networking, work ethic and drive to succeed.
