Completion Engineer

About this role

WAEP is an indigenous energy company focused on the exploration, development and production of hydrocarbon resources across West Africa, headquartered in Lagos State, Nigeria. The Completion Engineer will plan, design and support the safe, reliable and cost-effective execution of well completion activities to deliver the required production or injection performance throughout the well lifecycle. The role requires extensive upstream completion/well engineering experience, preferably including offshore operations.

What you would do

• Develop completion basis of design, programmes and detailed equipment specifications.
• Design completion strings, tubing, packers, safety valves, sand-control and related completion systems.
• Perform completion engineering calculations and equipment selection in line with well objectives and operating envelopes.
• Support completion installation, commissioning and handover activities.
• Coordinate vendors and service companies and monitor technical/service performance.
• Prepare cost estimates, schedules and technical inputs to procurement and contracting.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum, Mechanical or related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8-12 years' relevant upstream completion/well engineering experience, preferably including offshore operations.
• IWCF/IADC well-control certification and relevant professional certification are desirable.
