Commercial & Tender Manager
About this role
ELPER Oilfield Engineering seeks a Commercial & Tender Manager in Lagos. The role leads the end-to-end tendering process in the oil and gas servicing sector, coordinating inputs from technical, financial, sourcing and commercial teams to deliver competitive and compliant bids aligned with the business development strategy. It involves managing multiple opportunities and influencing stakeholders to support the company’s long-term growth objectives.
What you would do
- Develop commercial proposals and quotations in oil and gas servicing to ensure competitiveness, profitability and strong client value propositions
- Lead all functions supporting the commercial process and business development, including technical proposals, schedules, sourcing strategies, execution plans, quality plans, financials and investment requirements
- Develop or support cost models for contract scope to ensure alignment with the commercial strategy
- Revise and negotiate customer scope, pricing, terms and conditions, and the technical and financial aspects of the bidding process
- Prepare and present deal business cases for functional and leadership approvals prior to submission
- Support operational, financial, commercial and contractual risk assessments, including securing internal approvals for deviations from company standards
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance & Control, Business Administration, Economics or related discipline; or another field with strong analytical and mathematical capabilities
- Master's degree or specialised master's in Energy Economics, Project Management or Contract Law is required
- 12+ years of experience across commercial proposals, costing, contracts, project management and engineering
- At least 7+ years of experience in the oil and gas market with strong bid and tender management skills
- Experience with bid evaluation processes (TBE/CBE) and e-procurement platforms such as NipeX, SAP Ariba, NIPEX, Smart GEP or NAPIMS
- Advanced to fluent English proficiency, written and spoken
