Commercial Tender & Account Operations Manager
About this role
The role is for a Commercial Tender and Account Operations Manager based in Abuja. It requires someone who can blend accounting expertise with commercial judgement to manage tender preparation, commercial accounting, pricing, contract administration and customer account operations for a multinational engineering services firm. The successful candidate will ensure competitive tender submissions, accurate financial documentation, timely invoicing and payment follow-up, and support profitability. What you would do
- Review RFQs, RFPs and other tender opportunities from corporate and multinational clients.
- Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, pricing schedules, bills of quantities and tender documents.
- Coordinate with technical, procurement and operations teams for quotations, cost estimates and inputs.
- Analyse costs, labour, logistics, mobilization, overheads, taxes and margins to ensure competitive bids.
- Ensure tender submissions are accurate, compliant and timely.
- Maintain a tender register and track submissions, clarifications, negotiations and awards.
- Prepare and review quotations, pro forma invoices, payment schedules and account statements.
- Analyse project costs, revenue and gross margins before offers are submitted.
- Reconcile customer and supplier accounts, purchase orders and invoices.
- Monitor receivables and supplier obligations, manage VAT and other statutory requirements, and support management reporting.

- HND or bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Professional accounting certification such as ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage.
- Experience in accounting, tender management, commercial operations or contract administration.
- Experience with multinational engineering, oil and gas service providers, marine or industrial organisations is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of tender pricing, cost analysis, invoicing, account reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Understanding of VAT, withholding tax, POs, contractual payment terms and receivables management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, organisational, communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders, accounts and deadlines simultaneously.
- High integrity with attention to detail and professional discipline.
