Commercial Operations Manager
About this role
Aldelia Limited in Lagos is seeking a Commercial Operations Manager to provide end-to-end commercial leadership for oil & gas and infrastructure projects, including marginal field development, brownfield work, and EPC/EPCM scopes. The role involves identifying new commercial opportunities, developing business cases, and guiding intercompany billing approvals, as well as advising on commercial strategy and value-driven costing. You will drive lifecycle costing, value engineering, and strategic cost planning aligned with capital allocation and investment processes, while managing contract and claim activities under FIDIC and similar forms. The position also entails leading change management, dispute input, and detailed quantum analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and the EPIIM group to optimise project profitability and availability. The role targets candidates with a strong background in commercial operations within industrial automation, energy, or engineering services, and a proven track record in bid management or proposal development.
What you would do
- Provide commercial leadership across oil & gas and infrastructure projects from start to finish.
- Identify commercial opportunities, build business cases, and secure approvals for intercompany billing.
- Advise management on commercial strategy and value-based modelling.
- Lead lifecycle costing and value engineering to optimise design and execution strategy.
- Establish cost planning frameworks aligned with capital allocation and investment processes.
- Manage contract and claim activities including variations and compensation events.
- Support dispute resolution with commercial input and analysis.
- Conduct detailed quantum analysis for entitlements, cost build-ups, and impact assessment.
- Administer EPC/EPCM and related contracts under FIDIC or industry forms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve availability, lifecycle cost, and profitability.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
- MBA is highly recommended.
- 8-10 years of experience in commercial operations, bid management or proposal development.
