Commercial and Business Development Manager
About this role
Sisa Method is seeking a Commercial and Business Development Manager to join its client team in Abuja. The role involves building the market and customer base to monetise a planned 7 million standard cubic feet per day Ajaokuta Mini gas facility, including presales, gas supply readiness, and offtake contracting. The client is developing the project in Kogi State with a lean execution team and targets first gas in April 2027, subject to readiness and approvals. The position requires managing market maps, customer pipelines, pricing models, and collaboration with Legal and Finance to secure commercial terms. The role reports to the MD/CEO with regular updates on pipeline, volumes, revenue, margin and risk.
What you would do
- Develop a prioritized market map and segmented customer pipeline across sectors.
- Lead presales activities such as expressions of interest, letters of intent, and term sheets.
- Develop the feedstock sourcing strategy and engage gas suppliers and pipeline operators on terms.
- Maintain pricing models, delivered-cost estimates, customer margins and sensitivity analyses with Finance.
- Collaborate with Legal to create offtake templates covering price reviews, nominations, credit security and dispute resolution.
- Track customer and gas supply readiness against the commissioning plan.
- Provide monthly reports to the MD/CEO on pipeline, contracted volumes, revenue, margin and commercial risk.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of commercial or business development experience in gas, LNG/CNG, power or industrial fuels.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating gas supply and/or offtake agreements.
- Strong financial modelling and pricing skills.
- Knowledge of the Nigerian gas market, customers and regulatory environment.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship-building and presentation skills with sound commercial judgement.
