What you would do
- Administer the college library and coordinate library services across academic units.
- Oversee library operations and ensure alignment with college academic activities.
- Maintain and manage library ICT systems, automation packages and digital resources.
- Provide leadership and manage human and material resources within the library.
- Prepare and present reports related to library services and performance.
- Collaborate with academic staff to support teaching, learning and research.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor library staff and foster professional development.
- Assist in policy development and implementation for library services.
- Facilitate access to collections and user support to students and staff.
What they are asking for
- Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS) or Information Science with at least 15 years post-qualification experience, or
- PhD in Library Science or Information Science with at least 12 years post-qualification experience.
- Must have served as Chief Librarian or Deputy College Librarian for at least 5 years in a recognized tertiary institution.
- Must be registered with the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) or an equivalent body.
- Evidence of substantial scholarly publications in reputable journals.
- Proven ICT proficiency, library automation, and digital library management skills.
- Demonstrated sound human relations, professional competence, integrity, and resource management.
- Age not above 59 years at the time of appointment.
