What you would do
- Oversee the overall administration of the College Library and its branches
- Develop and implement library policy and liaise with departments on book requirements
- Maintain a database of reputable book vendors for current editions (print and electronic)
- Prepare the Library budget
- Ensure alignment with global best practices in library resources
- Provide services to the entire college community and ensure smooth library operations
- Manage personnel and resources to support library functions
- Engage in matters of common interest with relevant stakeholders
- Report to the Provost and coordinate library activities across schools and departments
- Maintain records and supervise library governance and compliance

- Bachelor's degree with a Master's in Library Science from a recognised institution, with at least 15 years of cognate experience or
- PhD in Library and Information Science with at least 12 years of cognate work experience
- Registration with a professional library body
- Proficiency in information and communication technology (ICT)
- Evidence of sound human relations, professional competence, industrial integrity and management ability
- Must have held the position of Chief Librarian or Deputy College Librarian for at least five years in a College of Education system
- Must not be above 59 years of age at appointment
- Evidence of substantial research publications in reputable journals
