What you would do

• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in compressors, condensers, evaporators, thermostats and other refrigeration components
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper refrigerant handling procedures
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
• Monitor temperature controls, refrigerant levels and cooling efficiency
• Inspect refrigeration equipment and report faults requiring major repairs or replacement
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs and spare parts used
• Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical faults in refrigeration systems
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimise downtime and product losses
• Ensure cold rooms maintain the required temperatures for safe storage of products
• Install, maintain and repair cold rooms, refrigeration systems and cooling equipment

• 3–5 years’ hands-on experience maintaining and repairing cold rooms and industrial refrigeration systems
• Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using appropriate tools and equipment

• Ability to work independently and respond to emergency breakdowns
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and refrigeration safety procedures
• Technical certificate, OND or HND in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
