Coal Power Plant Planner
About this role
The role focuses on planning, coordinating and monitoring maintenance activities for a coal power plant to ensure reliable operation and plant availability. What you would do
- Plan, coordinate and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance for CPP equipment
- Prepare maintenance work plans and schedules for boilers, turbines, generators and related systems
- Coordinate maintenance with Operations, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation teams
- Ensure work packages include manpower, tools, spares, consumables and technical information
- Monitor progress, identify delays and resource constraints, provide status updates to CPP Manager
- Plan and coordinate shutdowns, outages and major overhauls with contractor support
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards and pre-task risk assessments
- Support RCFA/RCA for equipment failures and track corrective actions
- Review equipment history to optimise preventive maintenance schedules
- Maintain maintenance plans, records, backlog information and progress reports

- Minimum 5 years of work experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional certification such as COREN or other engineering certifications is an advantage
- Maintenance planning, scheduling and execution experience
- Knowledge of coal power plant operation and equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of boilers, turbines, generators and auxiliary systems
- Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to prepare work orders and manage maintenance backlog
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs
- Ability to monitor progress and prepare reports and perform risk assessments
