Civil / Structural Engineer
About this role
Prestige Homes & Properties Limited is looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer to join their team in Abuja. The role involves supervising construction works, ensuring structural integrity, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with approved designs, codes, standards and safety rules. The candidate will work across project sites, coordinate with project stakeholders, review materials and workmanship, assist with planning and estimations, and prepare technical documentation. The position targets professionals with experience in civil or structural engineering who can work independently and meet deadlines. Preference is given to those residing in or near Gudu District, Abuja.
What you would do
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress
- Ensure works comply with approved designs, codes, standards and quality requirements
- Monitor health, safety and environmental compliance on sites
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, subcontractors, quantity surveyors and other stakeholders
- Review materials and workmanship for compliance with specifications
- Assist in material estimation, quantity calculations and planning
- Identify and resolve technical issues during construction and escalate major concerns
- Ensure proper use of resources and adherence to budgets and timelines
- Prepare site reports, progress updates, inspection records and technical documentation
- Interpret and implement structural drawings, architectural plans and specifications and supervise site activities
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field from a recognised institution
- 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in civil/structural engineering or site supervision
- Practical experience in supervising building construction and interpreting engineering drawings
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or related engineering software; familiarity with structural analysis tools an advantage
- Professional registration with COREN or eligibility for registration an added advantage
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, coordinate with site teams and meet deadlines
- Good knowledge of construction methods, structural principles, materials and quality control procedures
- Candidates residing in or near Gudu District or surrounding areas preferred
