Civil Site Engineer
About this role
A contract Civil Site Engineer role based in Shagamu, Ogun, focusing on overseeing day-to-day site engineering, execution and coordination for large industrial projects such as warehouses and factories. The position targets candidates with hands-on experience in heavy foundations, PEBs and industrial infrastructure, with 4 to 8 years on-site work.
What you would do
- Direct daily site activities for factory and warehouse construction in line with drawings and specifications
- Resolve technical queries, constructability issues and clashes between civil, architectural and MEP designs
- Supervise heavy foundation works including pile caps, grade beams, retaining walls and machine foundation pads
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors for earthworks, steel fabrication/erection, flooring, cladding and external works
- Prepare and review progress reports, track short-term schedules and monitor material consumption
- Ensure HSE compliance and conduct joint site inspections prior to pours or sign-offs
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 4 to 8 years of on-site civil engineering experience in warehouses, factories, logistics hubs or heavy industrial facilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office and MS Project (Primavera P6 or BIM is a plus)
- Professional registration with COREN, NSE or equivalent preferred
- Hands-on experience with industrial concrete floors, heavy site infrastructure and PEB/structural steel erection methodologies
- Knowledge of safety practices for high-risk operations and quality control on site
