Chinese Translator & Management Assistant

About this role

Role based in Lagos for a Chinese Translator and Management Assistant to support the management team of Blue Wave New Energy Technology Nigeria Company Limited. The role includes Chinese–English translation and interpretation, task tracking, coordination with staff and partners, meeting support and general administration; it is not translation‑only and requires follow‑through on assigned matters.

What you would do

• Interpret and translate between Chinese and English during meetings, customer visits and site activities.
• Translate emails, documents, work instructions and business correspondence accurately.
• Maintain an up-to-date action tracker with tasks, owners, deadlines and progress.
• Follow up on quotations, orders, deliveries, installations and after-sales matters.
• Coordinate communication between management, staff, customers, suppliers and partners.
• Organise meetings, prepare materials and take minutes.

What they are asking for

• Mandarin Chinese: HSK Level 5 or above; HSK Level 6 preferred.
• Able to understand work instructions, interpret business conversations, prepare meeting notes and write progress updates in Chinese.
• Strong spoken and written English; ability to translate between Chinese and English.
• Experience in translation, management support, business administration or project coordination is an advantage.
• Willingness to attend customer visits and project sites as required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email and digital collaboration tools; attention to detail, professionalism and discretion.
