Chinese Translator

About this role

Tongyi Allied Mining Limited is a mining company with operations in Nigeria, including Abuja and several states. They are seeking a Chinese translator to enable clear communication between Mandarin Chinese and English-speaking staff, clients and stakeholders. The role involves translating and interpreting, supporting meetings and day-to-day business activities, and handling related administrative tasks. What you would do

• Translate and interpret between Mandarin Chinese and English accurately and professionally.
• Facilitate communication during meetings, discussions and business activities.
• Translate emails, reports, documents, correspondence and other materials.
• Support Chinese and English-speaking teams with effective communication and coordination.
• Assist with administrative and operational activities when required.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and company documents.
• Ensure clear and accurate communication across teams and departments.
• Perform other translation and communication-related duties as assigned.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Chinese Language, Linguistics, Languages or a related field.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both spoken and written.
• Strong translation and interpretation skills with high accuracy and context awareness.
• Good understanding of Chinese and English culture and business communication.
• Ability to translate documents, correspondence, meetings and verbal communications accurately.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other communication tools.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Previous experience as a Chinese Translator or Interpreter is an advantage.
