Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRACO)

About this role

A senior risk and compliance leadership role responsible for setting group risk appetite, standards and policies, and coordinating multiple control functions across SOL and related entities. The position targets experienced professionals with a strong background in risk management, compliance or internal audit, capable of leading multi-disciplinary teams and reporting to the Chairman/CEO. Location is in Lagos (Lekki/Chevron area).

What you would do

• Set group-wide risk appetite, control standards and compliance policy and ensure consistent application across SOL and related entities.
• Track the annual ERM audit plan and closure of audit findings across all control functions.
• Chair periodic risk and compliance reviews with control heads and report to the Chairman/CEO.
• Coordinate cross-functional risk and compliance matters spanning multiple control functions.
• Review control heads' periodic reports before reporting to the Chairman/CEO.
• Maintain the independence of statutory compliance audits and triage escalations from control heads.

What they are asking for

• Minimum 10 years' progressive experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit or control functions with leadership of multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience leading and coordinating diverse control functions at group level (HR/recruitment risk, financial control, enterprise risk, statutory compliance).
• Strong executive reporting, stakeholder management and people leadership skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Law, Accounting, Risk Management, Business Administration or related field; postgraduate or professional qualification (e.g. ACA/ACCA, CRMA, ICSAN, CIA) is an advantage.
• High independence of judgement and integrity with ability to engage senior stakeholders.
