Beacongate Limited in Lagos is hiring a Chief Operating Officer to oversee day‑to‑day operations, construction projects and operational teams. The role focuses on driving operational excellence, profitability, resource optimisation and business growth, while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to quality standards. The COO will enforce health, safety and quality procedures, support business development and tender activities, monitor performance, manage risks, and provide financial and operational leadership. The position targets experienced construction professionals with a strong track record in multi‑project management and team leadership. What you would do

• Enforce health, safety and quality policies across project sites.
• Support tender preparation, project costing and contract negotiations.
• Monitor project progress and operational KPIs; prepare management reports.
• Identify and mitigate operational, financial, contractual and delivery risks.
• Oversee construction projects from planning to handover.
• Manage operational budgets and control expenditures to improve profitability.
• Ensure construction activities meet designs, specifications and contractual requirements.
• Oversee procurement of materials, equipment and subcontractor services.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, policies and procedures.
• Lead project and operational teams and promote accountability and development.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant construction industry experience.
• At least 5 years in a senior management role.
• Experience managing multiple construction projects, operational teams, budgets and subcontractors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business or Project Management is an added advantage.
• Relevant professional certification or membership is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of construction project management, contract administration, procurement, cost control, HSE and quality standards.
