Chief Financial Officer
About this role
Role: Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy for a microfinance bank, based in Enugu. The position is a senior member of the Executive Management Team responsible for strategic financial leadership and driving the bank’s transformation into a digitally led microfinance institution. It is suited to an experienced finance or strategy leader with background in microfinance, banking or fintech and strong regulatory knowledge.
What you would do
- Lead the bank’s digital transformation, including digital lending, mobile banking, agent banking, and partnerships with fintechs and payment service providers.
- Identify new business opportunities, market segments, and partnerships to support scalable growth.
- Oversee the full finance function, including budgeting, IFRS reporting, treasury, capital, and cost control, with involvement in product economics and pricing.
- Drive capital raising and partnerships with investors, development finance institutions (DFIs) and fintechs.
- Ensure risk management, compliance, and internal controls across traditional and digital channels; manage regulatory relationships (CBN, NDIC, etc.).
- Build and lead a high-performing Finance & Strategy team and collaborate with other Executive Management Team members.

- Bachelor's degree plus ICAN/ACCA (mandatory); MBA/Master's preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience, with at least 5 years in senior finance/strategy leadership in microfinance, banking or fintech.
- Deep knowledge of IFRS, CBN guidelines, and Nigerian regulations; experience in a regulated financial institution.
- Strategic planning and execution experience; managing regulatory relationships (CBN, NDIC, etc.) in Nigeria.
- Strong financial modelling, MIS/BI skills, and digital finance understanding.
- Excellent stakeholder management; integrity; change-driven; customer-focused.
