About this role
Based in Rivers, the Chief Engineer role oversees the operation, maintenance and repair of machinery on SEV vessels to support operational excellence. It is aimed at candidates with substantial vessel engineering experience and the required maritime qualifications.
What you would do
- Carry out inspections, minor repairs and maintenance as detailed in the planned maintenance system manual
- Prepare the engine room for inspections and maintain an engine room watch
- Manage technical tools and tool boxes assigned to the vessel
- Supervise the engine room team and allocate resources
- Troubleshoot faults, handle crisis situations and maintain logs of engine room activities
- Determine engine consumables, control spare parts requisition and oversee bunkering operations onboard
What they are asking for
- Class 2 CoC (engine capacity over 3000 kW)
- STCW'95 111/2 (NIMASA and other endorsed acceptable flags by NIMASA)
- Mandatory Basic Safety (STCW '95) Courses
- NIMASA Medical Certificate
- BSc/HND or Trade Test with workshop experience
- Minimum 3-5 years' work experience on a vessel
