Chemistry Teacher

About this role

Rubeth International Christian Academy in Aba, Abia State is seeking a Chemistry Teacher for its secondary school. The successful candidate will plan, deliver and assess chemistry lessons, support students' academic and personal development, maintain a positive classroom environment, and contribute to the academy's growth and vision within a Christian ethos.

What you would do

• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons aligned with the curriculum and academic standards.
• Teach the assigned subject and ensure learners understand the learning objectives.
• Prepare lesson notes, schemes of work, assignments, tests and other instructional materials.
• Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify students requiring additional academic support and work with them to improve performance.
• Maintain classroom discipline and integrate Christian values into teaching and interactions where appropriate.

• Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject or related field (BEd, BSc, BA, BTech or equivalent; NCE may be considered for junior secondary).
• TRCN registration or eligibility for registration is an advantage; additional professional qualifications are an advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience in a reputable school; experience with Nigerian secondary curriculum and WAEC/NECO/BECE is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong classroom management, organisational and ICT/digital literacy skills.
• Demonstrated good character, integrity, discipline, professionalism and willingness to participate in school activities.
