Chartered Accountant
About this role
A full-time Chartered Accountant role based in Abuja, responsible for complete financial management, project accounting and compliance for construction projects, with reporting to the CFO and collaboration with site and procurement teams.
What you would do
- Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations and cash flow.
- Handle construction project accounting such as job costing, work-in-progress valuation, budget vs actual, variation tracking and retention management.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, budget variance and project profitability analysis by the 5th working day.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls including 3-way match, approval matrix and dual signatories.
- Handle statutory remittances (PAYE, Pension, VAT, WHT, CIT) with zero penalties; manage payroll review and fixed asset register.
- Support budgeting, cash flow forecasting and financial strategy with the CFO.
What they are asking for
- BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Chartered Accountant (ICAN/ACA) mandatory
- 5-7 years post-qualification experience, at least 3 years in Construction/Real Estate/Engineering
- Proven experience in project costing and construction ERP (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks Enterprise)
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, IFRS and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills; high integrity and ability to work with minimal supervision
