Casual Worker - Driver

About this role

Casual Worker - Driver for the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in Abuja. The driver will transport passengers and goods, carry out vehicle checks and simple maintenance, and support logistics tasks as required. Suitable for applicants with at least an OND or equivalent and prior driving experience in a humanitarian NGO.

What you would do

• Drive on DRC assignments in compliance with Nigerian traffic laws and DRC regulations
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and report faults
• Maintain up-to-date vehicle logbooks and ensure vehicle documents are valid
• Load, unload and transport goods and official documents as required
• Ensure passenger safety and enforce safety standards during travel
• Report accidents or incidents promptly and carry out duties as assigned, including procurement errands when requested

• NDON? Note: OND or equivalent
• Previous experience as a driver in a humanitarian NGO with owned or hired fleet
• Ability to operate the vehicle independently with minimal breakdown
• Able to read and write
• Able to fill vehicle log book and checklist
• Flexibility with working hours (advantage)
