What you would do

• Carry out carpentry and joinery works, including fabrication, installation, repair and maintenance of wooden structures, furniture, fixtures and fittings
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and install timber, plywood, MDF, laminates and other approved materials
• Construct, install and repair doors, door frames, cabinets, cupboards, wardrobes, shelves, workstations and wooden partitions
• Perform joinery tasks such as cutting joints, assembling components, fitting hinges and installing handles
• Read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, measurements and work instructions
• Inspect wooden structures and fittings for damage or wear and carry out repairs and replacements
• Perform finishing work such as sanding, polishing, varnishing and sealing
• Install and adjust hardware including doors, locks, hinges and drawer slides
• Operate woodworking machines and hand tools safely
• Maintain tools, equipment and workshop areas in a clean and safe condition
