Cabinet Design Architect / Designer

About this role

The Cabinet Design Architect/Designer translates client briefs and architectural drawings into precise, manufacturable cabinet designs for spaces such as kitchens, wardrobes and commercial fit-outs. The role links sales, engineering and production to ensure designs are aesthetically sound, structurally viable and optimised for CNC manufacturing within material and tolerance standards. Location is Lagos and the position is suitable for professionals with cabinet or millwork design experience.

What you would do

• Develop cabinet and millwork designs from client briefs, architectural drawings or interior design concepts for various spaces.
• Create 2D/3D renderings and mood boards to present design concepts for client approval.
• Take site measurements or review existing measurements to ensure designs fit spatial conditions.
• Produce detailed shop drawings, cut lists and cabinet schedules using CAD or cabinet design software; ensure compliance with material and tolerance standards.
• Generate CNC-ready nesting files or provide precise specifications to CNC programming staff.
• Coordinate with production, quality control and sales to ensure manufacturability and update designs based on feedback.

What they are asking for

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years' experience in cabinet/furniture design, millwork or joinery; CNC manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software; cabinet-specific design software strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of wood-based panel materials (MDF, plywood, particleboard) and their manufacturing tolerances.
• Excellent spatial reasoning and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/interior design drawings.
