Business Development Officer

About this role

Based in Lagos, Odixcity Consulting seeks a Business Development Officer to generate revenue from its crane fleet through sales and rental contracts. The role targets infrastructure, commercial and industrial projects and requires building relationships with clients while coordinating with operations to deliver and mobilise equipment.

What you would do

• Identify and prospect new clients requiring crane rentals or purchases for infrastructure, commercial and industrial projects
• Conduct site visits to understand client requirements, provide technical consultations, and recommend the right crane for the job
• Prepare competitive proposals, negotiate rental rates and sale prices, and close agreements that maximise profitability
• Build long-term relationships with construction managers, general contractors, and engineering firms to secure repeat business and long-term contracts
• Monitor competitor activities and market pricing trends to adjust sales strategies accordingly
• Work closely with the operations and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries, mobilisations, on-site safety, and pickup of equipment

• A degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in marketing or as a BDO in real estate, logistics, oil and gas, or crane/heavy-duty equipment leasing
• Ability to understand crane capabilities (tonnage), boom lengths, and job site logistics
• Proven track record of cold calling, site visits, and closing deals
• Documented history of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Strong understanding of construction machinery and cranes; exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
