Business Development Manager (Hybrid)
About this role
GlobalPay Limited is seeking a Business Development Manager based in Lagos with a hybrid work arrangement to drive growth across its payment and switching divisions. The role involves acquiring merchants and partners and increasing revenue for GlobalPay and Terraswitch, targeting banks, fintechs, and corporate clients.
What you would do
- Identify, pursue and close new business opportunities with merchants, banks, and fintech partners
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow revenue across key market segments
- Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions, PSSPs/PSPs, and corporate clients
- Represent GlobalPay and Terraswitch at industry events, partner meetings, and regulatory forums
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to tailor solutions to partner and merchant needs
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to inform growth strategy
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or related field; MBA is an advantage
- 5-8 years of business development or sales experience, preferably in fintech, banking, or payments
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and partnership targets
- Strong network within Nigeria’s financial services and fintech ecosystem is highly desirable
- Knowledge and skills in B2B sales, negotiation, and relationship management; understanding of Nigerian payments, switching, and financial services landscape; familiarity with CRM platforms (HubSpot, Salesforce) and MS Office; strong presentation and proposal-writing skills
- Ability to collaborate across teams: work with Product and Engineering to scope partner integrations; coordinate with Legal and Compliance on partnerships and merchant agreements; partner with Marketing on go-to-market campaigns and lead generation; report to executive leadership on growth targets and pipeline health
