Business Development Manager (Freight Forwarding)
About this role
Sunrose Consulting is recruiting a Business Development Manager for freight forwarding in Lagos. Reporting to the Country Manager, the role focuses on identifying and acquiring new business and driving profitable growth through ocean freight, air freight, customs clearance and related logistics services by engaging senior decision-makers.
What you would do
- Develop sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets
- Identify market opportunities and potential clients to expand the customer base
- Build and manage a pipeline of high-value opportunities
- Pursue larger corporate accounts and strategic opportunities
- Lead negotiations and develop pricing proposals for Ocean Freight, Air Freight and related services
- Maintain relationships with key customers and senior decision-makers
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of proven sales or business development experience, preferably in logistics or freight forwarding
- Strong knowledge of Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Customs Clearance and related logistics services; industry trends and market dynamics
- Proven track record of personally acquiring new customers and generating profitable business
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal) and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) plus general internet navigation and research skills
- Existing Lagos importer/exporter network preferred
