Branch Compliance Officer (Lagos)

About this role

The Branch Compliance Officer role is based in Lagos and forms part of Access Bank's Conduct and Compliance group. It involves supporting and monitoring compliance activities across assigned branches to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, with risks and exceptions identified and escalated for timely resolution. The position reports to the Zonal Compliance Officer.

What you would do

• Monitor assigned Lagos branches for compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Conduct periodic compliance reviews of branches and follow up on identified exceptions until closure.
• Ensure compliance with KYC, CDD, AML/CFT and sanctions requirements across branches.
• Review account-opening and customer documentation for regulatory and internal compliance.
• Escalate compliance breaches and emerging risks within assigned branches.
• Track remediation of compliance findings and support implementation of new regulatory requirements.

• First degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law, Finance or related discipline
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Banking Operations, Internal Control, Audit, Risk Management or related function
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, ACIB
• Desirable: Master’s Degree
• Knowledge of CBN regulations and Nigerian banking industry compliance requirements
• Understanding of AML/CFT, KYC, CDD and sanctions compliance
