Branch Compliance Officer (Anambra)

About this role

The Branch Compliance Officer is based in Anambra for Access Bank and will support and monitor compliance activities across assigned branches to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies, while identifying and escalating compliance risks for timely resolution. The role reports to the Zonal Compliance Officer.

What you would do

• Monitor assigned Anambra branches for compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Conduct periodic compliance reviews of branches and follow up on identified exceptions until closure.
• Ensure compliance with KYC, CDD, AML/CFT and sanctions requirements across branches.
• Review account-opening and customer documentation for regulatory and internal compliance.
• Escalate breaches and emerging risks and provide guidance to branch staff on policies and requirements.
• Track remediation of findings and prepare periodic compliance reports for management.

What they are asking for

• First degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law, Finance or any related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Banking Operations, Internal Control, Audit, Risk Management or related function.
• Professional qualification - ACA, ACCA, CFA, ACIB.
• Desirable: Master's Degree.
• Desirable: Relevant professional certification or membership in Compliance, Risk, Banking, Audit or related disciplines.
• Desirable: Knowledge of CBN regulations and Nigerian banking industry compliance requirements.
