Branch Accountant

About this role

The Branch Accountant is the finance control owner for a SIMS Nigeria Limited branch, digital centre or hub in Anambra. The role maintains the branch books, oversees revenue, cash and treasury activities, manages stock and facilitates month-end close, delivering insights for performance review and issue resolution.

What you would do

• Maintain accurate branch books in Odoo, perform daily checks, reconciliations and month-end close.
• Reconcile revenue, cash, POS and bank transactions; monitor lodgements, settlements, refunds and cash variances.
• Manage customer and supplier balances, ageing, statements, collections, invoices, GRNs and reconciliations.
• Reconcile stock records, transfers, returns and adjustments; support stock counts and investigate variances.
• Support budgeting, forecasts, P&L, pricing and margin analysis; explain significant variances.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, statutory requirements and audit processes; maintain documentation and controls.

What they are asking for

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance or a closely related discipline; minimum Second Class Lower or Upper Credit, subject to HR policy.
• At least three years of progressively responsible accounting experience; stock-intensive retail, distribution, consumer electronics or FMCG experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in sales/cash and bank reconciliation, AR/AP, month-end close, stock-related financial control and audit-support.
• ICAN, ACCA or ANAN professional-study pathway preferred; part or full qualification is an advantage appropriate to grade.
• Practical Odoo or comparable ERP experience and strong Excel capability; dashboard/BI exposure is advantageous.
• Female candidate is preferred.
