What you would do
- Build assigned features and bug fixes in Java and Spring Boot according to designs and acceptance criteria
- Develop and update REST APIs and SQL queries
- Learn and work with the platform data structures ensuring validation, error handling and data consistency
- Agree API contracts with frontend engineers and maintain OpenAPI documentation for changed endpoints
- Write unit and integration tests and collaborate with QA to verify fixes
- Submit small, reviewable changes via Git branches and pull requests
- Explain approaches, apply feedback and keep technical documentation up to date
- Investigate issues using approved tools and logs, escalating high-risk or production-impacting problems
- Clarify requirements with engineers, Product and QA before implementation
- Estimate tasks with support, share progress and raise blockers or risks early

- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent practical training with relevant projects
- Foundational Java skills and familiarity with Spring Boot through coursework, internship or projects
- Understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms and debugging techniques
- Basic knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, relational databases and SQL, and Git version control
- Ability to write basic automated tests and explain code using documentation
- Clear written and verbal communication, attention to detail and collaborative approach
