Backend C#.NET Engineer II

About this role

Cavista is seeking an experienced Backend C#.NET Engineer II in Lagos to design, develop, test and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for fintech products, including payment processing and financial reporting. The role involves collaborating with product, frontend, QA and other teams, contributing to technical design decisions, and mentoring junior engineers. You will work on high-performance APIs, microservices, and ensure security, performance and reliability, while supporting CI/CD and DevOps practices. The position targets candidates with substantial Fintech experience and a strong background in C# and .NET. What you would do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using C# and .NET technologies.
• Build and optimise APIs, microservices, and backend systems for fintech products.
• Develop solutions for payment processing, transaction management, reconciliations, settlements, and financial reporting.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with minimal downtime.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline delivery.
• Ensure system security and performance optimisations.
