Backend C#.NET Engineer II

About this role

Cavista is seeking an experienced Backend C#.NET Engineer II for a hybrid role in Lagos. The position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs to support fintech products, digital payments, and customer experiences. You will work with product, frontend engineering, QA, and other stakeholders to influence the platform’s technical direction and ensure engineering excellence. Responsibilities include building scalable applications with C# and .NET, creating high-performance APIs and microservices, handling payment processing and financial reporting, participating in architecture discussions, mentoring junior engineers, troubleshooting production issues, and contributing to CI/CD and DevOps practices.

What you would do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using C# and .NET technologies.
• Build and optimise high-performance APIs, microservices, and backend systems for fintech products.
• Develop solutions for payment processing, transaction management, reconciliations, settlements, and financial reporting.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with minimal downtime.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline software delivery.
