Automation Manager
About this role
Dangote Cement Plc Obajana is seeking an Automation Manager to lead automation and instrumentation across its production facilities. The role involves overseeing automation systems to ensure the reliability, quality and safety of operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing automation systems and instrumentation designs, with a track record of improving efficiency and innovation in industrial operations.
What you would do
- Check Siemens automation panels, Siemens systems and UPS.
- Troubleshoot automation PCS and related systems.
- Safekeep automation spares.
- Prepare purchase requests.
- Maintain drawings and manuals for automation/Siemens systems and the bypass register.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth plant operation.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 18 years of experience in automation and instrumentation management within manufacturing or industrial environments, including 9 years in a modern cement plant.
- Proven track record designing, implementing and maintaining complex automation systems.
- Strong understanding of PLC, DCS, SCADA and other control systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills; able to work under pressure.
- Experience in the cement or related industries; familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies and IoT applications; professional certifications in automation or related areas.
