About this role
Stockgap Fuels Limited, based in Abuja, seeks an Automation & Instrumentation Incharge to own and maintain the plant’s automated control systems, including PLC, SCADA, HMI, gas detection and Emergency Shutdown systems, ensuring accurate cylinder filling and safe process control. The role involves managing control systems for the cylinder-filling carousel, check-weighers and bulk storage instrumentation, calibrating instruments to regulatory accuracy standards, and overseeing system backups and security. The incumbent will lead automation improvement projects, supervise Automation & Instrumentation Operators, and conduct root-cause analysis for downtime. The position targets candidates with a technical degree and substantial experience in industrial automation and supervision. The employer operates in the distribution of refined petroleum products and LPG in Nigeria, with operations supported by international partners and a strategic alliance with a national oil company.
What you would do
- Manage PLC/SCADA/HMI control systems for the cylinder-filling carousel, check-weighers and bulk storage instrumentation.
- Execute instrument calibration programs for load cells, weighing scales, pressure transmitters, level gauges and flow meters to specified accuracy standards.
- Oversee control system backups and user security access.
- Lead automation improvement projects.
- Supervise Automation & Instrumentation Operators.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for control system downtime.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor's degree or HND (2nd Class Upper / Upper Credit) in Electrical/Electronic, Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
- Minimum 6 to 8 years' experience in industrial automation/instrumentation.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- PLC/SCADA/DCS programming or configuration certification is strongly preferred.
