About this role
Stockgap Fuels Limited seeks an Automation and Instrumentation Operator to monitor and run control-room PLC/SCADA/HMI systems during filling operations. The role involves responding to alarms, performing basic instrumentation checks, and assisting with first-line fault troubleshooting. It focuses on monitoring the filling carousel and bulk storage control systems across shifts and addressing process and safety alarms in line with procedures. The position is based in Abuja and is part of the plant maintenance team within the downstream petroleum/LPG bottling operations. The employer is expanding its LPG business with additional storage and cylinder filling facilities across Nigeria.
What you would do
- Maintain shift logs and perform calibration verifications.
- Assist with first-line fault troubleshooting in instrumentation.
- Monitor filling carousel and bulk storage control systems during assigned shifts.
- Respond to process and safety alarms (gas leaks, ESD, pressure/level limits) per SOPs.
- Operate and monitor PLC/SCADA/HMI systems in the control room.
- Support routine instrumentation checks and preventive maintenance.
- Coordinate with plant operations to ensure safe and efficient filling operations.

- OND/HND in Electrical/Electronic, Instrumentation, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 2–4 years’ control room or instrumentation experience in process plant environments.
