Auditor, Operational Compliance
About this role
ECOWAS is seeking an Auditor, Operational Compliance in Abuja to perform compliance audits across ECOWAS institutions, specialised agencies and offices under the Office of the Auditor General, in line with the OAG strategic plan and professional auditing standards. The role reports to the Principal Auditor, Operational Compliance and is suited to experienced auditors with compliance or internal audit background.
What you would do
- Conduct compliance audits across ECOWAS institutions, specialised agencies and offices in line with the OAG plan.
- Plan and design compliance audit assignments, identifying risks and gathering relevant information.
- Develop and implement a detailed audit programme for the audit team.
- Execute assigned audit tasks, applying auditing standards, risk management, and related methodologies.
- Draft audit reports with findings and recommendations and monitor management's response and implementation.
- Maintain records of working papers and audit evidence, ensuring timely completion and confidentiality.
What they are asking for
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration or related field.
- Professional certification such as CIA, CPA, CA, CISA, etc. (added advantage).
- Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in audit, finance, accounting, administration, statistics or related area.
- Recent experience (minimum two years) in compliance or internal audit assignments (desirable).
- Experience with enterprise risk management tools and applications (e.g. SAP GRC) (added advantage).
- Experience using audit management software (TEAM-MATE, ACL, IDEA) (added advantage).
