Associate Finance Director
About this role
Brands Optimal Limited, a leading experiential marketing agency in Africa, is hiring an Associate Finance Director in Lagos. The role covers overall financial management, planning and forecasting, and end-to-end accounting operations. It requires strategic financial planning, reporting, risk and compliance management, and team leadership within the finance department. The position involves partnering with other departments to align financial plans with business goals and advising senior leadership on financial impact of decisions and client deals. Candidates should have substantial finance experience, professional qualification, and strong technical and leadership skills.
What you would do
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and long-term forecasting.
- Manage end-to-end accounting operations: general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations.
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals.
- Drive finance transformation using automation, digital tools, and data analysis.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage internal controls, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.
- Lead and develop finance department staff.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP/IFRS and coordinate audits.
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial plans with organisational goals.
- Advise senior leadership on financial impact of business decisions and client deals.
What they are asking for
- Bachelor’s or MSc in finance, accounting, or business administration.
- Qualified member of ICAN or ACCA; MBA preferred.
- 8–10 years in finance/accounting with at least 4 years in a managerial role.
- Advanced MS Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP, QuickBooks, or Microsoft Dynamics).
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau).
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, influencing senior stakeholders, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills; proficiency with accounting software.
- Excellent communication and forecasting abilities.
